 Lisa is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine. There, she received a Bachelor’s in Professional Health Studies and a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine. She is also a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine through NCCAOM and a licensed Doctor of Oriental Medicine in the state of Florida. Her training includes Western Medicine and Oriental Medicine as well as a variety of Integrative and Functional Medicine approaches. Lisa is experienced in Bio-Energetic Feedback techniques, Applied Kinesiology / Muscle Testing, and she is able to order and support patients with blood work, saliva, stool tests and certain genetic tests.

A client of Healing Alternatives since childhood, Lisa has been brought up around natural healing modalities for as long as she can remember. Turning to herbs, homeopathic remedies, and energy work first is a way of life for her. Her first memory of an Integrative Medical Doctor is from a young age when a sibling continually had ear infections and had been prescribed a surgical procedure for tubes in his ears. In an effort to make sure that didn't happen, her mother found a Naturopathic Doctor who used muscle testing (Applied Kinesiology) to determine that it was simply a food allergy that was causing the earaches. Since then, she and her family have been devoted to looking at health and wellness from a holistic point of view. It's important to remember, just because your ears hurt, doesn't mean the root of the problem is in your ears.

Welcome to Ying Liu, an incredible healthcare professional who embarked on her journey in medicine with a focus on exercise physiology, graduating and becoming an MD in China in 2002. Her belief in the power of lifestyle changes led her to pursue a PhD program in exercise physiology in the United States. However, her passion for patient care led her
to become a registered nurse in the US.
 
With two decades of patient care experience, Ying's journey evolved as she delved into functional medicine and aesthetics. Her dedication to addressing the root causes of health issues led her to specialize in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, medical weight loss, and peptide therapy, certified by esteemed institutions such as the Hormonal Health Institute and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
 
Currently holding an Autonomous Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Florida, Ying has the same prescribing rights as a Medical Doctor in Florida. Due to thousands of clinical hours and advanced training, Ying is poised to bring her wealth of experience to Healing Alternatives. Her conventional training and dedication to functional medicine, combined with her aesthetic skills, promises to enrich the scope of services offered.

Concierge Acute Care / Primary Care
*Due to Ying’s extensive background in conventional care and urgent care, Healing Alternatives will now offer a Concierge Acute Care Service, as well as Primary Care services. These services will still be on a cash-paying basis. However, it will offer much more flexibility and availability than scheduling with insurance-based providers.  Visits will be billed in 15-minute increments and not necessarily be based on a functional medicine model of longer, in-depth visits if the patient prefers.  Labs can be run through insurance providers or done with cash, as always.
